Charles Tauber

Charles Tauber is a partner in the Restructuring and Special Situations Group at PJT Partners where he advises boards, investors and sponsors on a range of special situation and restructuring transactions.

Over his more than twenty years of industry experience, Mr. Tauber has led distressed and special situation investments in both the liquid and illiquid markets, and focused on out-of-court restructurings and in-court bankruptcies, rescue financings, distressed-for-control private equity transactions and special situations liability management. He has served as a board member and observer on public and private boards, and is experienced in making governance decisions, and selecting board members.   

Prior to joining PJT, Mr. Tauber spent over eleven years at Anchorage Capital Group, LLC, where he was Managing Director, Head of Restructuring and a Member of the Investment Committee. Prior to Anchorage, Mr. Tauber was a Principal at Silver Point Capital.  Mr. Tauber began his career at Citigroup, serving as a Director and Senior Analyst on the Distressed Debt Desk. 

Before that, he was a Vice President and workout banker in Citigroup’s Workout and Restructuring Group.

Mr. Tauber received a Master of International Affairs and International Economics, with Distinction, from The Johns Hopkins University, Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He was a Fulbright Scholar, and graduated from Connecticut College with a Bachelor of Arts.
